Stuart Macbride, the bestselling author of Cold Granite and Dark Blood, brings us Shatter The Bones, a new Logan McRae thriller set in gritty Aberdeen.

Denise Mina, the award-winning author of Garnethill, brings us End Of Wasp Season. DS Alex Morrow, heavily pregnant with twins, is called in to investigate a savage murder.

Ian Rankin, the internationally bestselling author and four-time CWA Dagger Award winner, returns to the Festival with The Impossible Dead. Malcolm Fox and his team from Internal Affairs are back to investigate whether fellow cops covered up for a corrupt colleague.

Denise Mina

Denise Mina was born in Glasgow. Her first novel, Garnethill, won the Crime Writers' Association John Creasey Dagger for best first crime novel. Since then she has written seven further novels, including most recently Still Midnight. She also writes comics and short stories, and is a regular contributor to radio and TV. End Of Wasp Season is her latest book.

Ian Rankin

Sir Ian Rankin is the multimillion-copy worldwide bestseller of over thirty novels and creator of John Rebus. His books have been translated into thirty-six languages and have been adapted for radio, the stage and the screen.Rankin is the recipient of four Crime Writers' Association Dagger Awards, including the Diamond Dagger, the UK's most prestigious award for crime fiction. In the United States, he has won the celebrated Edgar Award and been shortlisted for the Anthony Award. In Europe, he has won Denmark's Palle Rosenkrantz Prize, the French Grand Prix du Roman Noir and the German Deutscher Krimipreis.He is the recipient of honorary degrees from universities across the UK, is a Fellow of The Royal Society of Edinburgh and a Fellow of The Royal Society of Literature and was knighted for his services to literature and charities in 2022.

Stuart MacBride

Stuart MacBride was born in Dumbartonnear Glasgow but grew up in Aberdeen. He is the top-ten bestelling author of several novels featuring DS Logan McRae. He has been shortlisted for the Theakstons’s Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award twice. Stuart won the 2007 CWA Dagger in the Library, awarded for a body of work, and was named Best Breakthrough Author at the 2008 ITV Crime Thriller Awards. Stuart lives in north-east Scotland with his wife Fiona and cat Grendel. Shatter The Bones is his latest book.
