Companion of the Liberation, Commander of the Legion of Honor, awarded the Croix de Guerre, diplomat, filmmaker, and writer above all, Romain Gary, who would have been one hundred years old this year (15 May 1914) accomplished an unique act in the French literary history: he was twice awarded the Prix Goncourt, under two pseudonyms: Romain Gary and Emile Ajar.
