A must-read, captivating memoir.”

Fen Osler Hampson on Lloyd Axworthy: My Life in Politics

What is Canada’s role in the world and what are our most pressing threats and opportunities?

With so much uncertainty and chaos south of the border, rising global authoritarianism, declining institutional trust and increasing inequality alongside an ever growing array of conflicts, disasters and environmental issues, we turn to two of Canada’s most consequential political leaders. Join them for a guided tour through the challenges and opportunities facing our nation in increasingly hostile times.

Senator Peter M. Boehm served as Ambassador to Germany from 2008 to 2012 and previously as Assistant Deputy Minister for the Americas, North America and Consular Affairs. Abroad, he was Minister (political and public affairs) at the Embassy of Canada to the United States in Washington and Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the Organization of American States. A recipient of the Public Service of Canada Outstanding Achievement Award and the Canadian Foreign Service Officer Award, he is currently the Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade.

Lloyd Axworthy, author of the recently released memoir Lloyd Axworthy: My Life in Politics, served as MLA in the Manitoba legislature for six years followed by twenty-one years in the House of Commons, more than half of those in the cabinets of Pierre Trudeau, John Turner, and Jean Chretien.
