Dr. Laura A. Millar

Dr. Laura A. Millar is an independent consultant and scholar in records, archives, and information management who has consulted with governments, universities, colleges, professional associations, non-profit organizations, and other agencies around the world. She has taught records and archives management in Canada and internationally and is the author of dozens of publications and conference presentations. Laura was named the winner of the Society of American Archivists' 2011 Waldo Gifford Leland Award for Archives: Principles and Practices and received the Association of Canadian Archivists’ prestigious writing award, the W. Kaye Lamb prize, twice for articles in Archivaria. Her new book, A Matter of Facts: The Value of Evidence in an Information Age, was published by ALA-Neal Schuman in Summer 2019. She lives with her husband in the community of Roberts Creek, on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Canada.
