Nyla Matuk
Nyla Matuk was born in Winnipeg and spent her childhood in Ottawa. She was educated at McGill University where she earned an M.A. in English and won the Lionel Shapiro Prize for short fiction. She has worked as a magazine editor, freelance writer, and college English instructor, and in corporate communications, refugee claims, and public policy. Sumptuary Laws (Signal Poetry/Véhicule Press, 2012) is her first full-length collection of poetry. A chapbook of poems, Oneiric, appeared in 2009.
