From Manitoba, Treaty 1 Territory, Evan J (he/they) is a poet living in Sioux Lookout, Treaty 3 Territory, Ontario. Evan splits his time between (1) writing poetry, (2) editing other writers’ work, (3) consuming literature and art, (4) finding place within nature, (5) decolonizing, (6) writing a novel about land and the laws placed upon it, (7) advocating for transgender rights, (8) helping operate the Sioux-Hudson Literacy Council’s (SHLC) Adult Learning Centre, a drop-in centre for Indigenous adults experiencing homelessness and/or addictions, (9) managing DOI2T, a program that uses contemporary technologies like 3D printing to improve the digital literacy of adults, (10) exploring.
